The Port of Portland (POPL) does not routinely handle dangerous goods outside of bulk liquids (non-flammable). This management plan has been developed to assist in safely facilitating the handling and storage of dangerous goods in the port area. Any proponents seeking to import, export or transit dangerous goods through the port, need to engage with POPL early to ensure that the activity can be facilitated.

The purpose of this document is to detail the requirements for the handling and storage of dangerous goods (cargo) in the port area.

This document applies to all Port Users involved in the export, import or handling of dangerous good in the port area for the Port of Portland.
